Salmon Fly Fishing

The Cascapedia River, the "Great" as we call it, is recognized as one of the best and most beautiful salmon rivers in the world for the size of salmon and the beautiful scenery. This majestic river almost entirely crosses the Gaspésie peninsula from north to south. Two words describe this river, Colossal and Impressive. She takes her source from the heart of the Chic-Choc Mountains and descends 139 km before ending its course in Chaleur Bay close to New-Richmond. More than 130 years of history and tradition animates this river.

We fish for the black salmon starting at the mouth to the Cascapedia/St Jules Bridge for about 20 km. The salmon that have spent the winter in the river descend in spring, while feeding. They are very hungry which allows us to catch a large number of fish. In addition, the Grande Cascapedia River is early for the first salmon run in comparison to Bonaventure and petite Cascapedia, which gives us the chance to be the first fishermen to catch the large salmon weighing 30 or 40 lbs. on the Grand Cascapedia at the same time as the black salmon.

Our service includes a fishing package (provincial permit for catch and release of salmon, right of access to the rivers, right of access to the lakes, 3 dinners, accommodation (room with double occupancy), professional guides, (one guide for two fishermen), welcome at the train station of New Richmond or Campbellton or at the Bonaventure airport and all land travel.

Our guests normally arrive around 4:00 pm, the eve of their first day of fishing, finally we offer you a welcome cocktail and a table d’hôte dinner that our chef will prepare for you. Departure is at the end of your last day of fishing.

Our packages are generally for a period of two, four, six or eight days, upon request we are able to adapt a special personalized vacation.

Combined salmon fishing on one of the best rivers of today:
(Bonaventure, Petite Cascapedia and Cascapedia) & brook trout fishing on Robidoux Lake:

Our salmon fishing starts June 10th and finishes September 30th.

Certain large salmon start to enter our rivers near the end of May, but the first upstream advance is between the end of June and the beginning of July. However, the persistent coolness of the water encourages an advance of new fish during the entire season. The month of September has also in the last years proved to be a pleasant surprise.

Our service includes a fishing package (provincial permit for catch and release of salmon, right of access to the rivers, right of access to the Robidoux Lakes, 3 dinners, accommodation (room with double occupancy), professional guides, (one guide for two fishermen), welcome at the train station of New Richmond or Campbellton or at the Bonaventure airport and all land travel.
