The Robidoux Lakes Outfitter: a paradise for fly-fishing.

Experienced and enthusiastic towards their job, the bilingual guides know how to share their best techniques to catch the Atlantic salmon and the Brook trout, the best species for fly-fishing in Quebec. Fly-fishing is also encouraged for catch and release.

Our outfitter has rich crystal-clear water surfaces which ensure a superior condition and strength of the fish. Moreover, the limited fishing pressure exercised by a tight management guarantees quality fishing.

Be it rivers or lakes close to the outfitter, you will gaze at the panoramas, especially at dusk, the favorite time for fly fishers, when Nature offers superb moments of serenity.

Experts or beginners, successful excursions are guaranteed.

The Robidoux Lakes Outfitter is ideally located near the best rivers for Atlantic salmon fishing in the world. We can assist our anglers in all aspects of Atlantic salmon fishing on the Bonaventure River as well as the Cascapedia and the Little Cascapedia situated not far from our outfitter, so as to satisfy the most demanding of our guests with the quality of fishing just as with the quality of our accommodation and meals. Many of our guests like to take advantage of fishing on more than one river while they stay in the Gaspé Peninsula.

Our guides have been carefully chosen among the best in the region. They have several years experience and know the sectors of the river in which to fish very well.

BONAVENTURE RIVER
The Bonaventure River, with crystal clear water, runs through the counties of Hamilton and Cox in the municipality of Bonaventure. The river begins in the Gaspé provincial park and empties into the Baie des Chaleurs after having run 125 km from north to south. The Bonaventure River is one of the most well known rivers in the Gaspé Peninsula for dry fly fishing.

LITTLE CASCAPEDIA
The Little Cascapedia River flows south of the Gaspé Peninsula and springs in the Chic-Choc Mountains, above 700 meters high. With an average slope of 4.9 m/km, it drains a catchment area of 1,463 km2. The main branch of the river, partly named Little Cascapedia West, flows for 80 km on a north-west south-east axis. For the last 20 km the river flows in a north-east, south-west direction. It joins the Cascapedia Bay at New-Richmond. As well as salmon, very big sea trout can also be found.

CASCAPEDIA
In the heart of the Gaspé region, the Cascapedia River is considered one of the ten best salmon rivers in the world for the size of the salmon that one finds. It is not uncommon to fish salmon species of 20+ kilos. The Cascapedia River is situated in the south of the Gaspé Peninsula. It begins in the Chic-Choc Mountains and runs 139 km in a north-west, south-east direction before ending in the Cascapedia Bay between the municipalities of Maria and New Richmond.

One can fish from a canoe or a rowboat according to the conditions of the water. For those who like fishing with a rowboat, the gravel bottom and limpid water of the Bonaventure River is recommended because water of this river is always cold. We suggest wearing neoprene boots and even during the hottest days of the summer.

Only fly-fishing is accepted on these rivers. It is wise to note that the rods for lines number 8 or 10 are used. The size of the flies to be chosen always depends on the conditions of the water and is between the 2 double one out of deep water up to numbers 10 or 12 out of low water. The flies most appreciated on our river are the silver rat, Blue Charm, green Highlander and the black Bear. Fly-fishing with the dry fly is extremely exciting on the Bonaventure River because of the quality of the water. The most used flies are the bombers. We have a complete set to sell at the outfitter. Salmon fishing begins on June 1st and finishes on September 30th. Certain large fish start to enter our rivers towards the end May. However the persistent cold temperature of the water of the rivers encourages new fish during the entire season.

Brook trout
Since our outfitter is on the edge of the Robidoux Lakes, you will have the privilege of fishing on a lake with exclusive rights and only to fly fish. You will find excellent specimens, a real treat! We can assist our anglers in all aspects of trout fishing. Many of our guests like to seize the opportunity to combine salmon fishing with trout fishing during their stay in the Gaspé Peninsula. Our carefully selected guides know our lakes perfectly. Furthermore, our guides know the feeding habits of trout very well and can also teach fly-fishing, even for beginners. When the anglers take out the fish the guides take care of the fly, the release of the fish into the water and the equipment.

ROBIDOUX LAKES
This magnificent lake of very pure water, which is situated in the heart of the Gaspé Peninsula, is a paradise for trout fishing. A true pleasure for fly fishing anglers.

We fish with an electric battery operated canoe so as to conserve a very healthy environment for our fish. Good waterproof boots will also be very useful. Only fly-fishing is permitted on this lake. Trout fishing begins on May 7th and ends on September 30th.

Whether it is for salmon or trout fishing, do not forget to bring a good pair of sunglasses to be able to see the fish as well as a raincoat and rain pants in case it rains during your stay with us.

During the day the temperature is between 20 and 25°C and at night it can drop to 15°C.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us. It will be a pleasure for us to answer any questions.
